Let's be loud!!!

This morning, we had a group of adults and students gather for breakfast, followed by the "See You at the Pole" prayer time. As the students went to their respective schools, the adults met at the City Park for a time of prayer for school administration, teachers, and students. It was during our prayer time that one of the adults prayed (not verbatim)..."may we be loud mouths when it comes to telling others about you, Lord!"

Wow! That hit me hard. Too often we try to sound PC (politically correct) about everything and don't want to be considered a loud mouth, but here this person was praying that we would be. Did you ever think that's what we're supposed to do?

So, I came back to the office and started looking up references in the Bible to loud voices being used. These verses stood out: Psalms 98:4, Luke 17:15, and Luke 19:37. Let's look at what they have to say...

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise." - Psalms 98:4

This verse puts it rather simply...make a loud noise...rejoice...sing praise. Maybe we will get some looks, but I see nothing that even remotely asks us to be quiet!

"And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God," - Luke 17:15

We who know Jesus have been healed, like the leper in this verse...we, too, should praise and glorify with a loud voice to be heard.

"And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;" - Luke 19:37

Let me see a show of hands...how many of us have seen mighty works done through the Lord? Shouldn't we be praising Him for what's been done? Shouldn't we want to tell everybody we run into about what He's done for us?

The prayer this morning just opened my eyes and heart that we can't afford to sit back and be PC anymore. We have been silent too long, and have lost many of our rights that our nation was founded on. May we stand up and let our voices be heard!!! Will you be loud with me???

If there is a special prayer I can word on your behalf, please let me know today...
