Do you thirst???

This morning, my reading came from Psalm 63, which was written by David while in the wilderness of Judah.

Psalm 63...(1)"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; (2) To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. (3) Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee."

This passage has so many key elements to our lives being on track. First, we seek the Lord early. I know this is challenging in our daily schedules, but it sets our mind on things above and opens our hearts to what God has for us today. Start the day with the Lord and He will guide your steps the rest of the day.

Second, what do we thirst for? We should literally thirst to be filled by the Spirit each day. And, I do believe spiritually we are in a dry and thirsty land, where the water (of the spiriual nature) is hard to find. We should be looking for the power and glory of God to be evident in our lives, just as was seen in the sanctuaries. God still works, we just limit Him from working the way He wishes to.

And third, if we believe that God's love and kindness is as important to our lives (as we say in our church gatherings and christian surroundings), then we should praise Him in everything we do.

A final note that I would like to point out about the passage is in verse 7..."therefore n the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice." Amen. With His protection around us, nothing can beset us. May you feel the coolness of the shadows under His sheltering wings!!!
